These have a thin nitro finish made to let the guitar's tone come through. Mahogoany body and neck are tonewoods that make for grit, sustain and tone. Previous owner has installed a set of DiMarzio P90s that sound really good. After 14 years, this guitar is perfectly burnished with just the right amount of wear, including a visible scratch just above the pickguard.
