Flying with Kampfeindecker Halbabteilung, or 'half flight of monoplane fighters', a unit attached to Feld Flieger Abteilung 9b, he shot down two Farman aircraft on the 25th September in this aircraft. He reportedly landed near his second victim, destroying his landing gear in the process. He was killed in a similar aircraft just a few
